We are now living in the times where the grocery bill keeps getting higher and higher by the week. In order to combat the growing grocery bill, I have compiled a list of tips that worked for me. I hope they help!
Create a grocery budget for the week - Knowing how much money you have to work with is essential.
Plan Your Meals for the Week - Planning your meals for the week allows you to prevent going to the grocery store multiple times a week or worse eating out multiple times a week. Plan everything down to the snacks and dessert.
Raid Your Fridge and Pantry - Planning your meals based on the food you have in the house will definitely save you money on the grocery bill for that week and overall on your monthly budget.
Make Your Shopping List and Stick to It
Plan simple meals - Every meal does not have elaborate. This is especially true for parents with small children.
Download store apps and join loyalty programs - The key here is to save and gain access to exclusive deals and sales that only those members can get.
Clip Coupons - Some might believe that this should be number ONE! You can coupon using the sale papers, couponing apps or store apps that allow you to save the coupons!
Know When to Shop - Knowing when the store starts their new sales for the week is key to getting the best deals!
Don't shop on an empty stomach - Only buy what you need. Don't buy anything you won't use for that week.
DON'T GO IN THE STORE - If you can't just buy what you need then shop online and select "Curbside PickUp"!
Shop at different stores - Sometimes you will have to go to multiple stores to get the best deals. Now I am not saying drive miles and hours for a deal but if you can look at various stores in your area before you go shopping.
If you buy it, EAT it!! - Plan out your meals so you can have leftovers. If you are lucky enough to have leftovers eat it for lunch or dinner the next day. Also, if you buy the food cook it!
I hope these few tips help you and stay tuned for more.
