It's POOL SEASON!!
Everyone loves to spend a day at the pool but we also need to keep our children safe. Below are some tips that will help keep your little ones safe at the pool!
Put your phone away! It is important to make sure you are completely focused on your child when they are in or around the water.
Enroll your child in swim lessons or teach them how to swim. Give them the skills they need to be a strong swimmer.
Don't leave you child in or near water unattended.
Apply Waterproof sunscreen.
Dry your child's ears when leaving the pool to help prevent ear infections.
Use Floaties, Life Jackets or other Safety Accessories when in the pool. (Disclaimer: Don't solely rely on these items when your child is in or near water. You must still watch them closely)
Be aware and inform your child of pool drains and suction outlets!
Ensure your child has the proper swimwear.
Additional AT HOME POOL SAFETY TIPS
Check you pool and ensure it is properly maintained. (i.e. Cleaning, loose screws, cracks, holes or any damage)
Install a pool fence.
Don't leave toys in the pool or use chemical dispensers that look like toys.
