I have always found creative ways to “Hide the Veggies” as so many parents have to do just to ensure their children to get the right amount of nutrients from the foods they eat. Nori usually eats her veggies without a problem however, I still like to provide her with creative ways to eat her veggies...
If your child is a picky eater or simply doesn’t like eating vegetables because they know the veggies are there, then these next few tips are for you.
WAYS TO HIDE THE VEGGIES & FRUIT:
Substitute the pasta in dishes that require some type of noodles or pasta with veggies such as Squash, Zucchini, Carrot, or Cucumber Noodles just to name a few which can be made at home or buy them premade. Barilla and Modern Table also have some amazing options.
Add Veggies to your child’s favorite mac and cheese dish. The taste of the cheese will mask the taste of the veggies.
Substitute sweet potatoes fries instead of the traditional French fry.
Cauliflower mashed potatoes instead of the traditional mashed potatoes.
Smoothies of course!! They will think they are getting a tasty treat!
Add pureed vegetables to your pasta sauce.
Homemade fruit popsicles.
Add fruit to your child’s pancakes or waffles.
Add fresh fruit to oatmeal..
These are just a few ways to get your little one to eat their fruits and vegetables. I hope this helped.
Oooohhhhh I need to try this! Looking forward to all of the fun recipes!
